Red Velvet Cake with cream cheese frosting has always been one of my favorite desserts. I’ve actually had it with a whipped cream frosting before and it almost made me sick. I don’t care about the extra calories…give me the cream cheese!!!
Not only do I love cake but it goes so much better with ice cream; even when it’s freezing cold outside I still find myself eating it.
Now you just could imagine how I felt when I saw these photos of Red Velvet ice cream…I never knew it existed so I immediately searched the internet for a recipe to share.
Red Velvet Ice Cream recipe:
1 cup heavy cream
3 egg yolks
1/4 cup sugar (sweeten to taste)
1 cup buttermilk or crème fraiche
1-2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1-2 teaspoons red food coloring
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
